Embossed Vellum

Hard to believe Hurricane Irene is causing so much damage going up the East Coast.  It was beautiful here today in SC!  I saw a news show today where a couple got married a day early on Friday, instead of Saturday, along the coast because they were going to be evacuated Friday night.  Can't remember the coastal town, but it reminded me of this beautiful card I made recently at a Stampin' Up! demonstrator share night at Donna's house.

Here we used Marina Mist and Whisper White cardstock.  A 5 1/4 x 4" piece of Whisper White CS was embossed with the Manhatten Rose Embossing Folder (pg 218) and stamped to the right of the embossing with Marina Mist Ink using the Word Play stamp set (pg 156).  Love that set ... it pretty much makes a card by itself!  Then a piece of White Vellum (pg 181) was also embossed with the Manhatten Rose Embossing Folder and then cut out to form the wedding dress.  I found this quite interesting ... if you have this embossing folder, take a close look at it and you will see the wedding dress.  This cut-out piece of vellum was then daubbed (is that a word??--used a dauber :-) with Frost White Shimmer Paint (pg 203).

The background piece for the bridal dress was stamped with Marina Mist Ink using a retired stamp set.  I can see using the French Filigree background stamp (pg 151), Hello Doily background Stamp (pg 150) or Baroque Motifs stamp (pg. 146) to give a similar look.  A few pearls and a rhinestone (pg 198) gave it some bling!

Thanks Donna, for a great make & take!  Love this card!
