Just cleaning up last night from the well-attended 6x6 DSP class. Thought I'd share with you blog followers one of my favorite cards and how I used up the demo ducks ...
These are 3x3" gift cards. Even though we don't have a lot of baby showers to attend at this age, it's always a good idea to have the gift cards on hand to stick inside a baby gift when needed!
The stamp set used is Easy Events (pg 57) -- another free set from convention!!! The shiny embossed look was achieved by applying Crystal Effects (pg 206) over the image after it was colored in using our blender pens (pg 203).
As part of the 6x6" DSP class, I taught this technique of picking up ink from either an ink pad cover, ink from a reinker, or by simply using your markers and applying some ink on a clear block and picking up the ink from there with a blender pen. Simply start at the darkest area of the image and apply the ink. Clean off your blender pen and start blending the ink toward the lighter side of the image. Look closely at the duck's hat. By pretending the sun is hitting the object on the right side, you will see the realistic look of a watercolor by simply blending with blender pens.
Come back tomorrow to see the new Holiday Mini Catalog!!!
