Snow Flurry

A card with an ornament ...  Two for the price of one!

Here's a simple card using so many new products from the current Holiday Mini catalog.

Start with making a ornament using our Snow Flurry Bigz Die (pg 14) and cutting out pieces from our Silver Glimmer Paper (pg 160-large catalog).  Using a sponge dauber, ink the cut out pieces.  Here I used cherry cobbler and old olive inks ... just gives it a subtle hint of color.

The card base was cut out by folding a half sheet of whisper white card stock in half and running it through the big shot using the Scallop Square Bigz Clear die on page 192 of the big catalog.  In order to maintain the fold, be sure you place the fold about 1/2" under the top scallop cutting edge.

The beautiful embossed red layer was achieved by cutting out a square to fit on the front from our new Core'dinations Card Stock and running it through the big shot using our new Lacy Brocade embossing folder.  Then simply sand off the top layer to expose the lighter inside layer using our new Stampin' Sanding System.  All of these items are found on page 6 of our new Holiday Mini catalog!

To assemble the snowflake, I put a dimensional on the back piece (largest snowflake piece) so that it can later be removed and be hung on a tree.  I used an additional one or two dimensionals between some of the layers, but not between all the layers as it becomes too bulky.  A 1/2" circle punch was used to give me the top circle layer ... and a place to attach a pearl.  White bakers twine was used at the top to hang the ornament.

Now you have a card and an ornament ... Enjoy.
