Leadership Was Awesome!

Wow! That's all I can say! Leadership was awesome. Stampin Up announce the lot of changes and at it first it was a little overwhelming. But as the three day event progressed a lot of it made sense.  While I don't like change, I am starting to be optimistic about all the changes. It was a bittersweet time in that this was the last Leadership Conference as we know them.  The good news is, Stampin Up continues to be strong and an energetic company with whom I am proud to be associated. I'm busy getting unpacked and putting all of my 200+ swaps away and to good use. A lot of them I will be using for ideas for my upcoming classes while many of them will be donated to our troops.  I just love to swap and get the many, many ideas.

Spring Retreat Classes

Okay, if you're signed up for our Spring Stampin' Retreat in Asheville, NC March 10-15, 2015, then it's time to choose your classes.  With the spring retreat coming so close behind the fall retreat, time is limited.   The teachers have worked hard to create their classes and make their samples.   Now it's your time to QUICKLY choose your classes so the instructors can order their products and start prepping their classes.    So, please, email me today with your choices (bzstampin@live.com)  Deadline to order classes is Friday, February 6th.

Class #1 -- In”crease” Your Fun  -- Alvie Dielman -- Cost $10

In this class we’ll be making four items using different creasing a/k/a folding styles/designs – some with a little extra folding fun!  And…….you know how we all have that hoard (oops I mean stash – LOL) of DSP that we’re not sure what to do with it, well, we’ll be using DSP for all four projects.  Most project pieces will be pre-cut and scored.  You will receive written instructions for each item.

 
We’ll be using the following new items, in addition to a number of items in the Annual Catalog:  2015 Occasions Catalog:  Crazy About You and Guy Greetings stamp sets, Bow Builder Punch, Flower Medallion Punch.   2015 Sale-a-Bration Catalog:  Big Day and You Brighten My Day stamp sets, Best Year Ever DSP. 

 Items you need to bring to class:  Scissors, Bone Folder, Sticky Strip and your choice of double sided tape/snail/etc.

Class #2 -- Gelli Roll Fun!  -- Neily Trump -- Cost $15 

 

What's all the buzz about mono-printing? Gelli plates?   Come find out. And dress for a mess!   We'll make several prints; then use one or more to decorate the cover of a mini Art Journal or Diary. 

Materials supplied: a Gelli plate, acrylic paint, ink, mini journal/diary.   Participants should bring (if possible): a brayer, a heat tool, a kraft mat.

Class #3 -- Spring Flowers -- Bonnie Henderson -- Cost $10  

Did you see the cover of the new Occasions Catalog?   Are you ready for some spring flowers?   If so, you won't want to miss this class.   You will make one of each of the five flowers shown on the cover.   In addition, you will learn various ways to make flowers without having to purchase the kit using the Bouquet Bigz L Die (pg 30) -- which will be at retreat.  They're addictive to make ... and fun. I've worked through the bugs and will share all the tricks with you along with a few other ideas, too!

Materials needed:  Glue gun, glue sticks and Bone folder.  (If you sign up for the class, please bring your glue gun with you to retreat.   Otherwise, there will be a lot of waiting to use my one gun.  Thanks)

Love life

Another day and another 10 cards to make for my swap at leadership next week.  This card was made with the a Happy Thing stamp set which is free from sale a bration now till the end of March. Very simple designs that are so much fun to color with your blendabilities. With this card I used the daffodil and pumpkin blendabilities and the night of Navy and wisteria wonder blendabilities on the leaves. The background dsp is from our new mini catalog.   It's called Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper found out found on page 19.  This paper is so awesome!   I actually took one of the main sheets and just framed it to hang on my wall.

I finally got a minute to start to make some swaps for this year's Leadership Conference which I will be heading out to next week in Orlando. My first swap I used the new happy heart textured impressions embossing folder found on page 9 of our new or Occasions Mini Catalog which just came out on January 6th. I just can't get enough of embossingg folders.  They add that special touch to even the simplest card.

I also use black cardstock and pool party embossing powder to make the sentiment stand out. The ribbon is our pool party seam binding found in the regular catalog along with the heart punch.

Note Card Class

Join me for a fun, quick class where you can make 20 notecards with envelopes.  I will have various samples (a few pictured above), or you can do your own thing with the supplies furnished.  Customize most of the cards for what you will need this year (i.e., birthday, get well, etc.)   Everything's  included PLUS you will receive your own set of Daffodil (yellow) Blendabilities to use at class and at home.   Set includes 3 awesome alcohol-based markers ... like Copic markers ... you will love them!  Several demos/techniques will also be shown at the start of each class using our Blendabilities.
